Mondamin, Outcome 7

Today I’m reflecting on how I broke up a fight between two groups of campers. One of the groups was some kids from my cabin and the other was a camper and his older brother. I was somewhat acquainted with the camper and his brother and close with the kids from my cabin. Nonetheless, I had to sacrifice any bias and potential status with my kids in favor of resolving the fight and taking it to camp administration. I was able to recognize and consider the ethics of my choices and actions by sacrificing my relationships for the greater good.

Mondamin, Outcome 2

I’ve been out on several climbing trips now as I’ve come into my role as a climbing CT and really gotten into my assignments teaching campers how to climb. Over the past few years I’ve acquired lots of different climbing skills and now I get to teach these kids that I’m charged with befriending and keeping safe. I have demonstrated that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process by learning how to be not only a climber, but a climbing teacher.
