Shrek Audition, Outcomes 2 and 3

Today was the Shrek audition and it was great seeing all of my friends again and making new ones. I had a really good feeling about whether I was going to get chosen to play Shrek or not but nonetheless I was super excited to be a part of this. I was able to demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process by using the skills I’ve acquired in theater to have a good audition. I was also able to demonstrate how to initiate and plan a fieldwork experience by planning my audition piece.

Clue, Outcomes 4 and 2

Today was our performance of Clue. Altogether the experience was fun but there was a whole lot of not-so-fun stuff that we had to do, such as long rehearsals, disagreeable people, and sometimes uncommunicated ideas. I didn’t enjoy a lot of it but I did gain some important skills that I’ve used since. I was able to show commitment to and perseverance in a fieldwork experience by fighting through the bad parts without giving up. I was also able to demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process by picking up a better British accent and performing as the farthest character from myself I’ve ever performed as.

Sweeney Todd, Outcomes 4 and 5

Today is our opening night and I’m so excited. This is my second favorite show I’ve ever done (after Footloose) and I’m so excited to get onstage. This is a good break from Clue rehearsals and I’m excited to use the new skills I’ve learned to play my character very effectively. I was able to show commitment to and perseverance in a fieldwork experience by putting my effort into this show and sticking with it even when I wanted to quit. I was also able to demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively by finishing strong in this show that is a product of all of our hard effort.
