Footloose, Outcomes 4 and 5

Coming to the end of my time in Footloose as well as the end of my time with the largest role I’d ever had (at that time) I knew I was going to miss it. The connections I’d made, the new songs and dances I’d learned that I wouldn’t be able to perform again. I was gonna miss everything but I was also excited to take the new skills I’d learned both in theater and for life in general forward with me. I was also leaving a character that I didn’t particularly like (as a person; I loved the act of playing him) behind. Throughout the show I was able to show commitment to and perseverance in a fieldwork experience. The whole process really wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. There were a lot of rehearsals I didn’t particularly want to go to and I was not always 100% invested in the musical. But I stuck with it. I pushed through the bad patches because if you don’t have bad patches you’re really not human. I pushed through the bad things into one of the greatest experiences of my life. I was also able to demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively by my participation in a musical with a very large cast where we all had to work together to make what turned out to be an incredible production.

Today is one of the last days we have at HITS and it’s a really bittersweet experience for me. These are the last days I’ll ever spend as a student at HITS but I’m enjoying them. Shrek is a good send off. I was able to demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively in my final show at HITS by working hard with my castmates to make a beautiful work of art. I was also able to show commitment to and perseverance in a fieldwork experience in the moments where it felt like rehearsals were way too often and way too long by pushing through it.

Shrek, Outcome 5

Today was the closing night of my last show ever at HITS. It’s a really sad experience but it was also amazing to spend this last night with such a good cast. Shrek has been a great show for me to improve and be better as a person. I was able to demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively by making this last show with my castmates absolutely phenomenal.

Pennebaker, Outcome 6

In the past few months at Pennebaker I've taken up the project of researching private equity firms for Mr. Byrd. He and I have been interacting and making contact outside of school about exactly what the spreadsheets I've created entail: a list of employees, their contact information, the company's portfolio and its contents, and the company's contact information. I've learned a lot about the private equity world in Houston as well as nationally and maybe even somewhat internationally. These firms are a big part of innovation. They invest in and buy companies that they are interested in and that they see potential in before funding them and using them to push innovation forward. I think these private equity firms investing in energy, power, computers, and other innovative fields have really been set up to push the world forward. Take SpaceX.
